Plain Tea Cake

    A simple tea cake with a hint of vanilla and a sprinkling of cinnamon sugar. This tea cake goes great with a cuppa and is ready in 30 minutes.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 6 

    • 60g butter, softened
    • 90g sugar
    • 1 egg
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 1 cup self raising flour
    • pinch salt, to taste
    • cinnamon sugar, to taste

    Directions
    Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:30min 

    1. Preheat oven to 170 degrees C.
    2. Cream together butter and sugar. Add egg and vanilla then continue beating. Add milk, alternating with flour and salt.
    3. Pour into a greased sandwich cake tin, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar then bake in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes.
