Made with wholemeal flour, bran, brown sugar and mixed fruit, this bran loaf is tasty and heart healthy. Enjoy it for breakfast with a dob of butter, or eat it plain for morning tea.

The Walters

Makes: 1 loaf

  • 2 cups (240g) wholemeal flour
  • 2 cups (140g) bran
  • 1 cup (130g) self raising flour
  • pinch salt
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 1 cup mixed fruit
  • milk, to bind

Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:45min  ›  Ready in:1hour 

  1. Mix together all ingredients then add enough milk to form a soft dough. Bake in a loaf tin for 45 minutes.
