Sift together flour and salt. Cut in butter. Gradually add milk to form a soft dough. Roll about 1/2 cm thick. Cut out small circles with a biscuit cutter.
Place sugar on to a plate. Roll each date piece in the sugar until well coated then place each date on to one half of each pastry circles. Fold in half, place on greased baking tray then bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes.
