These homemade ginger biscuits are chock full of butter and packed with fresh ginger. Mixed with treacle or golden syrup, they are sweet, buttery and delicious.

Serves: 12 

  • 8 cups (1kg) flour
  • 500g butter
  • 4 teaspoons ginger, grated
  • 2 1/4 cups (500g) sugar
  • treacle or golden syrup, warm

Preparation:30min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:45min 

  1. Preheat oven to 190 degrees C. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  2. Cream together butter and sugar. Beat in ginger, then stir in flour. Stir in enough warm treacle to from a dough. Roll out thin, cut into shapes, place on baking tray then bake until done.
