These basic raisin scones are so simple and use ingredients you are sure to have. Flour, salt, butter, raisins and milk are all you need. Serve with butter.

The Walters

Serves: 6 

  • 3 cups self raising flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1-2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 1/2 cups milk, to bind

  1. Sift together flour and salt. Rub in butter then add raisins. Add just enough milk to for a soft dough. Turn onto a board then cut into squares.
  2. Preheat oven to 240 degrees. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  3. Place on lined tray then bake in preheated oven until done, about 10-20 minutes.

For Sweeter Scones

For sweeter scones, add 4 tablespoons of sugar.
