This easy loaf is baked with plenty of walnuts. This baked treat is great for afternoon tea with a cup of tea of coffee. Enjoy.

The Walters

Makes: 1 loaf

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup (130g) self raising flour
  • pinch of salt
  • milk, to bind
  • 12 walnuts, finely chopped

Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:40min  ›  Ready in:55min 

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
  2. Cream together butter and sugar. Add egg and beat well. Sift together flour and salt, then stir into the egg mixture. Add walnuts then enough milk to form a medium consistency dough.
  3. Pour into greased loaf tin and bake in preheated oven until done, about 40 minutes.
