    1. Heat olive oil over medium heat in a large saucepan or deep frying pan.
    2. Add the diced onion, celery, carrots and garlic. Cook slowly for about 8-10 minutes or until soft. Transfer to a bowl and set aside.
    3. Brown the mince in the same frying pan. Add the vegetables back into the pan with the mince, add the wine and scrape up the browned bits from the bottom.
    4. Add the tomato paste, passata and chopped basil. Let the sauce cook over very low heat uncovered for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally until thickened. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Really needs a layer of the bechamel sauce over the top layer of pasta. The pasta on the top dries out otherwise, so would need too double up on the bechamel sauce ingredients. Apart from this everything else was ok.  -  17 Feb 2013  (Review from Allrecipes UK & Ireland)

Made it with fresh lasagne sheets (used recipe from this site). I used 1.2kg minced meat and 800g passata, so ended up with 2 lasagne, each had 3 layers of lasagne sheets. I cooked Bolognese sause in multicooker (slow cook setting) 4 hours. My family loved it!  -  07 Nov 2016  (Review from Allrecipes UK & Ireland)
