    7 minutes

Fried plantains are an accompaniment to many South Pacific and Caribbean dishes. They are very similar to bananas.

Iwould recommend fried plantains to anyone who has not tried them before. I use them as an accompaniement to currys or if I've bought a lot will eat them just as a snack. I tend to do mine slightly different. I fry in a mix of half vegetable oil and half ghee. When finished I salt and then squeeze over fresh lemon or lime juice.  -  19 Aug 2012  (Review from Allrecipes UK & Ireland)
