Fresh Tomato and Basil Pasta Sauce

This is a mild tomato and basil pasta sauce with a touch of chilli. It takes hardly any time to make and is beautifully fresh.


Serves: 2 

  • 4 fresh vine ripened tomatoes, skinned and de-seeded then diced
  • small handful fresh basil leaves
  • 2 or 3 green or red chillies, de-seeded and diced (according to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon tomato puree
  • olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • cooked pasta of your choice

Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:25min 

  1. Heat olive oil in a saucepan and add onions. Cook until soft. Add garlic, cook for about 1 more minute until garlic is just done.
  2. Add diced tomatoes, tomato puree and chilli. Mix well and once hot, add your cooked pasta and toss. Serve with a basil leaf for garnish.
