Ginger Ale Silverside

    The quickest and easiest way of cooking silverside. Nine times out of ten dry ginger is on special at most supermarkets.

    Serves: 6 

    • 1.25 lt bottle of dry ginger ale
    • water to top up
    • 1 kg silverside

    Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:5hours  ›  Ready in:5hours5min 

    1. place silverside in crockpot
    2. pour dry ginger ale over and top up with water if necessary to cover the meat
    3. set crock pot according to manufacturer's directions

    Other ideas

    I add 5 or 6 cloves and a roughly chopped onion to give more flavour, but that's not necessary


    Beautiful served with steamed potatoes, carrots, parsnips and peas and a good parsley sauce and wonderful cold in sandwiches
