This is a recipe for bolognaise that I use a fair bit, it can take time, but can also be done quickly. If you need to do it quickly, just use strain canned tomatoes, and add a little water.

Serves: 2 

  • 500g mince beef (or pork)
  • 2 tins diced tomato
  • pinch salt
  • pinch pepper
  • decent splash bbq sauce
  • 100ml red wine
  • 2 onions, very finely diced

  1. heat some oil in a medium sized pot, and fry off onion till transparent. add beef, and lightly salt.
  2. once beef cooked, add tomatoes. bring to boil, then let simmer. while simmering, add wine to seperate pan, and reduce by half. add to sauce.
  3. simmer for about 2 hours, when reduced and thicker, and a small amount of bbq sauce for a bit of tang.
