This is a recipe for bolognaise that I use a fair bit, it can take time, but can also be done quickly. If you need to do it quickly, just use strain canned tomatoes, and add a little water.
500g mince beef (or pork)
2 tins diced tomato
decent splash bbq sauce
100ml red wine
2 onions, very finely diced
- heat some oil in a medium sized pot, and fry off onion till transparent. add beef, and lightly salt.
- once beef cooked, add tomatoes. bring to boil, then let simmer. while simmering, add wine to seperate pan, and reduce by half. add to sauce.
- simmer for about 2 hours, when reduced and thicker, and a small amount of bbq sauce for a bit of tang.
