I use a 6 litre slow cooker. Put in 2 Ham hocks and 1 kg of yellow split peas and enough water to fill the cooker....set on high at about 9am....stir everytime you walk past
about 2pm you should be able to remove meat from bones and return meat to pot, discard bones. top up the water....contintue to stir(occasionally) so the peas dont stick to the bottom....
at about 6pm you can serve with fresh bread or toast ...enjoy..it is my family favourite ..
