    Sautéed mushrooms are a great foundation or accompaniment for many meals whether used as a topping on steak, a side dish or served on toast for lunch.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 30g butter
    • 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1/2 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
    • 1 clove garlic, crusheed
    • 1/8 teaspoon dried oregano
    • 500g crimini button mushrooms, sliced

    1. Melt butter with oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Stir in balsamic vinegar, garlic, oregano and mushrooms.
    2. Sauté for 20 to 30 minutes, or until tender.
