Whole Fish in Salt Crust

A whole fish cooked in a salt crust Very easy to make Good with cheaper types of fish

Ingredients
Serves: 4 

  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 2 cups salt
  • 1 + cup water
  • 1 fish cleaned

Directions
Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:30min  ›  Ready in:45min 

  1. Mix flour and salt together
  2. Add water to make dough The dough should not be to wet just easy to hold together If you have a big fish make more dough
  3. Wash and dry the fish Lemon can be added inside the fish if you like
  4. Place half the dough on cooking paper and spread out so the whole fish is on the dough Place the remaining dough on top of the fish and seal the fish Make sure no cracks or openings
  5. Bake in oven at around 180c for around 30 minutes or until crust is golden in colour
  6. Take the crust off the fish and serve
