    This is a quick and easy biscuit or slice that tastes a little like toffee due to the addition of brown sugar.

    Serves: 24 

    • 250g butter
    • 1 cup packed brown sugar
    • 1 egg yolk
    • 2 cups sifted plain flour
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
    • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
    • 1 cup chopped walnuts

    1. Cream together butter or margarine and brown sugar. Add 1 egg yolk, sifted flour and vanilla. Batter will be stiff.
    2. Spread on a greased 20x30cm baking tray. Bake at 190 degrees C for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
    3. While still warm, add 1 cup chocolate chips to top of biscuit until melted. Spread with knife until top is covered. Add chopped nuts, if desired. Let cool, then cut into squares.

    Yum, really easy to make. tastes good too. I added a few cashew nuts which was nice. Cooked it on baking paper so no sticking. - 07 Oct 2012
