Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Grease and flour a 20x30cm pan.
In a large bowl, stir together the sugar, flour, bicarb soda, cinnamon and cloves. Add the eggs and oil, mix until well blended, then stir in the pecans and apple filling. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
Bake in the preheated oven for 55 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool.
What are the ingredients of that canned apple filling? Asking as I live in the Czech Rep. The recipe sounds great! We preserve ground apples in jars here; just apples inside and sterilized and use them as a cake filling then. Could they be used? - 15 Jun 2012
