Apple Cider Vinegar BBQ Sauce

    This is my favourite barbecue sauce. You just combine all of the ingredients and then enjoy. This is easily scaled up or down.

    Serves: 64 

    • 1 litre apple cider vinegar
    • 550ml tomato sauce
    • 1/4 cup paprika
    • 450g dark brown sugar
    • 1/4 cup salt
    • 1 tablespoon black pepper
    • 2 tablespoons chilli flakes
    • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
    • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
    • 1/2 cup lemon juice

    1. In a large container, mix together the apple cider vinegar, tomato sauce, paprika, brown sugar, salt, pepper, chilli flakes, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce and lemon juice. Pour into an empty vinegar bottle, tomato sauce bottle or other container and store in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.

    Generally, I tend to avoid recipes with only 1 or 2 ratings. I came across this one while looking for a sauce that didn't use dry mustard or liquid smoke and decided to give it a try.     I hestitated making such a big batch of this sauce never having tried the recipe before but it was delicious. It is so much better than store bought--I don't think I'll ever go back!
