Pork Pizza Sandwich

This is a quick pizza made on toasted French bread. You can also add mushrooms, salami or chopped capsicums.


Serves: 6 

  • 500g pork mince
  • 5 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 250g tomato puree (passata)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • chilli flakes to taste
  • 1/4 cup sliced stuffed green olives
  • 1 loaf French bread, sliced horizontally
  • 185g mozzarella cheese, grated

Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:25min 

  1. Saute pork mince in 2 tablespoons olive oil until browned. Drain to remove excess oil. Remove from frypan and set aside. In frypan, heat 3 tablespoons olive oil, add onions and garlic then saute stirring until onions wilt down. Add tomato sauce, salt, pepper and chilli flakes to taste. Simmer about 5 minutes on low.
  2. Stir in the chopped olives. Toast bread lightly under grill. Top with pork mix and sprinkle grated mozzarella over all. Grill about 3 minutes until cheese melts. Watch carefully with oven door open. Remove from grill, slice and serve.
