These burgers are so flavourful because they are full of ingredients. A change from just beef! You can substitute Parmesan for cheddar if you want an Italian twist. They also cook well on the barbecue.
1 kg beef mince
1 cup chopped onion
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup tomato puree or passata
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
90g grated cheddar cheese
6 hamburger buns

In a large bowl, combine beef, onion, egg and tomato puree. Season with salt, pepper, oregano and Worcestershire sauce. Lightly mix in cheddar cheese. Shape beef mixture into 6 thick patties. Preheat oven on broiler setting.
Place hamburgers on grill pan. Grill, turning once, until cooked through, about 5 minutes per side. Serve on hamburger buns.
