Here's a quick and filling recipe perfect for working parents whose children are constantly scouring the refrigerator for food to munch on.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 10

    • 500g macaroni
    • 2 (185g) tins tuna, drained
    • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • garlic powder to taste
    • 1 pinch dried oregano
    • 1 onion, finely chopped

    Directions
    Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:15min

    1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add macaroni and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain and cool under running water.
    2. Mix both cans of tuna into the cooled pasta. Add the mayonnaise to your taste. You want just enough to get the flavour into the salad, but not enough to see the white of the mayonnaise on the pasta. Stir in salt, pepper, garlic powder, oregano and onion.

Growing up, my mom made this for us all the time and now I make it for my family. You can add anything you like to this recipe. Sometimes I add celery or chopped green pepper. When my salad is completed I usually serve it on a large bed of lettuce. I slice hard boiled eggs and tomato and place on and around the salad. Makes a pretty presentation for a very simple yet delicious and easy meal. For those of you who like a little zip, have a bottle of hot sauce at the table to sprinkle on the salad!  -  20 Apr 2002  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)

Very Good & Very Easy! My whole family loves it! I used the pasta "shells" instead of macaroni. It is good warm or cold! My husband likes it with peas in it too! Definately making this again & again!  -  19 Dec 2001  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)

I made this for a party and since I'm all about presentation, I made a few modifications. I only used one can of tuna and I used plenty more than 1/4 cup of Miracle Whip. I threw in some thawed frozen peas and shredded sharp cheddar cheese. It looked quite yummy and I had several people comment that it was just like their mom used to make! I didn't really try it since I added those other things. I'll have to make a version again with just the tuna, macaroni, and Miracle Whip for my plain palate.  -  04 Jul 2005  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)
