A nice variant on the ever-popular chocolate chip biscuit - this is baked in a large sheet and then broken into pieces. Interesting!


Serves: 30 

  • 250g butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 cup (220g) white sugar
  • 2 cups (250g) plain flour
  • 185g dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Preparation:20min  ›  Cook:25min  ›  Ready in:45min 

  1. Preheat oven to 190 degrees C. Grease one 20x30cm pan.
  2. Cream butter and salt and vanilla. Beat in the sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the flour until combined. Stir in the chocolate chips and pecans. Pat dough with hands into the prepared pan.
  3. Bake for 25 minutes or until light brown at the edges. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Once cool, break with hands into pieces.
