Lovely Chewy Pecan Bars

    This is a recipe for wonderfully chewy, almost caramelly pecan bars. It's very easy to make and a little different from your regular bar.

    Serves: 18 

    • 500g brown sugar
    • 4 eggs
    • 2 cups (250g) plain flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
    • 1 cup chopped pecans

    Preparation:20min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:35min 

    1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees C. Grease a 20x30cm baking pan.
    2. In a heavy saucepan combine the sugar and eggs. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in the flour, salt, vanilla and pecans.
    3. Spoon mixture into the prepared baking pan and bake for 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Cool and cut into squares.
