A good 100% wholemeal bread is not hard to make if you have a bread machine. This is a simple recipe but the result is very satisfying.
Thanks for sharing this gem of a recipe. I had no bread, a bread machine, yeast (a year older than its best before date), ordinary wholemeal flour and then I found this and now i have excellent wholemeal bread with a great taste and texture. It was so good that my strictly white bread only eating son even gobbled it up! - 19 Sep 2012

I made this recipe without the use of a bread machine. Leaving it rise 1 hour for the first rising, and after shaping, another hour, baking it for 33 minutes at 350 degrees and it was really good. This was made in a Kitcheaid mixer with all the dry goods in first then the margerine, and the water last. I left the machine run until it was entirely pulled together, about 6 minutes. This was a real easy recipe taking no time at all, and oh so worth the time. Yum. Thanks. - 16 May 2004 (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)
