Ham and Potato Lasagne

    1 hour 35 minutes

A "lasagne" that uses potato slices instead of lasagne sheets with a ham, cheese and broccoli filling and cooked with a premade Alfredo sauce. Lots of great tastes.

    Serves: 8

    • 375g premade Alfredo sauce
    • 1 cup (250ml) milk
    • 1.5kg potatoes, peeled and sliced into 3mm (approx) thick slices
    • 5 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
    • 1 1/2 cups diced ham
    • 300g broccoli, chopped (can use fresh or frozen)
    • 2 cups grated cheddar cheese

    Preparation:25min  ›  Cook:1hour10min  ›  Ready in:1hour35min

    1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees C.
    2. Lightly grease a 20x30cm baking dish. In a medium bowl, mix together the Alfredo sauce and milk. Spread 1/4 cup of this sauce in the bottom of the baking dish. Then layer 1/3 of the potatoes over the sauce in the dish. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of Parmesan cheese and salt and pepper to taste.
    3. In a separate medium bowl, combine the ham, broccoli and 1 1/2 cups of the cheddar cheese. Mix well and spread 1/3 of this mixture over the potatoes in the baking dish. Then top with another layer of potatoes, followed by the ham mixture, finally topping all with the remaining cheeses. Pour the remaining Alfredo sauce over it all.
    4. Cover and bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes, then uncover, reduce heat to 180 degrees C and bake for additional 25 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Let stand 10 to 15 minutes before serving.

This recipe is delicious! I added garlic powder on every level for a little extra flavor, and used mozzarella cheese in place of swiss (I also bought the pre-shredded cheese to reduce prep time). We will definitely have this one again!  -  05 Mar 2002  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)

Save yourself the trouble and just make scalloped potatoes with ham and serve broccoli on the side. It will be much better! (This one didn't do it for me.)  -  14 Jun 2002  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)

This was extremely good. I added a bit of onion and used shredded cheddar cheese because that was the only kind I had. Served it with some rolls and it was wonderful.  -  08 Apr 2002  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)
