    This recipes makes a nutty, creamy cake very similar to a cheesecake. It's very easy to make and great for serving to guests or just as a snack.

    Serves: 18 

    • 1/3 cup butter
    • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
    • 1 cup (125g) plain flour
    • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
    • 250g cream cheese
    • 1/4 cup white sugar
    • 1 egg
    • 2 tablespoons milk
    • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence

    1. Preheat oven to 190 degrees C.
    2. Cream together butter and sugar. Add flour and nuts, reserving some for the top. Pat into a 23cm square pan. Bake for 12 minutes.
    3. Cream together cream cheese, sugar and add remaining ingredients. Pour on top of crust. Sprinkle reserved crumbs over top. Bake for 20 minutes. Let cool.
