    The carrot gives this bread an orange colour and sweet taste, this is complemented by the slightly savoury flavour of the thyme.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 12 

    • 2 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
    • 1 cup rye flour
    • 2 1/4 cups (280g) bread flour
    • 1/2 cup cornflour
    • 1 1/2 tablespoons white sugar
    • 1 1/2 tablespoons dried thyme
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
    • 1 cup (250ml) water
    • 2 cups grated carrots
    • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil

    1. Place the ingredients in the bread machine pan in the order suggested by the manufacturer. Select Basic Bread setting then press Start.
    2. Allow the loaf to cool before slicing.
