Campfire Cake Dips

    A great treat for your next camping trip. Diced cake is toasted over the fire then dipped in condensed milk and rolled in coconut.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 8 

    • 1 sponge cake, cut into large cubes
    • 1 small tin sweetened condensed milk
    • 1 cup desiccated coconut

    Directions
    Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:15min 

    1. Toast the cake cubes over the coals of a campfire on toasting sticks until browned.
    2. Dip the toasted cake into the condensed milk then roll in coconut.

    These are good but I disagree about the process. The original must be dipped in sweetened condensed milk then dipped into the coconut flakes. Toast over the coals of the fire carefully just as you would brown a marshmellow. The flavors meld together which they do not do if you toast the bread only.
