Tortellini with Bacon, Onion and Balsamic

Super easy to make I like to use this dish as an entree. The cheese filled tortellini is stir fried with bacon and onion then served with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar and sprinkle of parmesan cheese.


Serves: 4 

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 5 slices pancetta bacon, raw
  • 280g cheese filled tortellini
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

  1. Heat oil in a large frypan over medium heat. Saute onion and bacon until onion is translucent and bacon is brown. Remove from frypan and drain on paper towel.
  2. Bring a large saucepan of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
  3. Return onion/bacon mixture to frypan and add cooked tortellini. Toss with 2 tablespoons olive oil and heat through.
  4. Place in serving dish or bowl, sprinkle with vinegar and cheese then serve immediately.
