Bacon and Cheese Bites

    Every party we make these little treats, bacon, cheese, mustard and mayonnaise is grilled onto little party bite sized pieces of bread.

    Serves: 20 

    • 500g sliced bacon
    • 2 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese
    • 2 tablespoons mustard
    • 1 cup (250ml) mayonnaise
    • 500g sliced pumpernickel party bread or similar

    Preparation:25min  ›  Cook:5min  ›  Ready in:30min 

    1. Place bacon in a large, deep frypan. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble and set aside.
    2. Preheat oven to grill.
    3. In a medium bowl combine the bacon, cheese, mustard and mayonnaise. Stir well.
    4. Arrange party bread on a baking tray. Spoon mixture onto each slice of bread.
    5. Grill for 5 minutes or until bubbly.

    This recipe is very simple to make and REALLY makes a great appetizer! I am on Weight Watchers so you can lower "Points" by using 2% cheddar, lower fat bacon and mayo with the same results! Yum.  -  14 Jun 2002  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)
