    With a little effort and a lot of time you end up with the ultimate chilli. The chilli is filled with mince, beans, tomato, celery and chilli.

    Serves: 10 

    • 1kg lean beef mince
    • 1/2 large onion, diced
    • 1 tablespoon chilli flakes
    • 3 tablespoons garlic powder
    • 1 tablespoon pepper
    • 2 (125g) tins mushroom pieces, drained
    • 1 (800g) tin baked beans
    • 2 (400g) tins kidney beans with liquid
    • 2 (185g) tins tomato paste
    • 1/4 cup (60g) white sugar
    • 3 carrots, sliced
    • 3 stalks celery, sliced
    • 1 green capsicum, diced
    • 1 red capsicum, diced
    • 2 jalapeno chillies, diced
    • 1/4 cup (60ml) beer
    • 1/4 cup (60ml) barbecue sauce
    • 1 dash hot sauce
    • 2 tablespoons chilli flakes

    1. In a large frypan over medium heat, brown beef mince together with onion, chilli flakes, garlic powder and pepper. Drain off the fat and place the mixture into a slow cooker.
    2. Stir mushrooms, baked beans, kidney beans with liquid, tomato paste, sugar, carrots, celery, capsicum, beer and barbecue sauce into the slow cooker. Season with hot sauce and more chilli flakes.
    3. Cover and cook on Low for 4 to 5 hours.
