In a medium bowl combine flour and bicarb soda. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl combine margarine/butter, white and brown sugars, vanilla and pudding mix. Beat until smooth and creamy. Beat in eggs. Gradually stir in flour mixture and then mix in the chocolate chips.
Drop batter by heaping teaspoonfuls, about 5cm apart onto ungreased baking trays. Bake for 9 minutes or until browned. Cool for 5 minutes on trays before moving to cake rack to cool completely.
