With little stress or time you can make a beautiful vegetarian penne pasta with a creamy yet basic pasta sauce.


Serves: 8 

  • 500g penne or mostaccioli
  • 1 cup (250ml) thickened cream
  • 125g butter
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup diced fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 pinch garlic powder

Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:20min 

  1. Bring a large saucepan of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
  2. Combine cream and butter in a large, heavy saucepan over medium heat. Heat stirring occasionally until butter melts being careful not to bring the mixture to a boil.
  3. Stir in Parmesan cheese, parsley, salt, pepper and garlic powder.
  4. Toss with cooked pasta and serve immediately.
