Refreshing Ginger Lemonade

    Garnish this fiery refreshing lemonade with extra sliced lemons or use slices of lemon rind from the leftover juiced fruit.

    Serves: 20 

    • 600g caster sugar
    • 3 1/2 litres water
    • 14 slices fresh ginger
    • 1 litre fresh lemon juice (about 12-15 lemons)

    1. In a large saucepan combine sugar, water and ginger. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.
    2. Stir in lemon juice. Cool for 15 minutes. Remove ginger. Refrigerate lemonade at least 1 hour, or until chilled.
    3. Serve over ice, if desired, and garnish with lemon slices.

    Didn't care for this much. The lemonade sticks to your mouth and isn't particularly refreshing.  -  29 Sep 2008


    This was a very refreshing beverage. I love the ginger! The recipe is a little sweet, so if you like your lemonade more tart (like me), scale back the sugar some.  -  29 Sep 2008
