Chocolate Dipped Marzipan Pralines

    These are great to eat or give away as gifts. They are super easy with no cooking involved, marzipan flavoured with rum are dipped in chocolate and then set with a walnut.

    Makes: 25 pralines

    • 400g marzipan
    • 1/2 cup (90g) icing sugar
    • 100g walnuts, coarsely diced
    • 1 tablespoon rum, to taste
    • 1 tablespoon maraschino liqueur
    • 20g icing sugar
    • 300g dark chocolate or as required
    • 50 walnut halves

    1. Knead marzipan with icing sugar, diced walnuts, rum and maraschino liqueur.
    2. Sprinkle the icing sugar on a clean work surface. Roll out the marzipan and cut out circles, squares or rectangles.
    3. Melt chocolate in a bowl over simmering water or in the microwave.
    4. Stab each praline with a cocktail stick, coat with chocolate and shake off any excess. Place onto a baking paper lined tray.
    5. Allow to set a little then top with a walnut half. Dry completely and store in tins.
