This is the easiest corned silverside you will ever make. Put it in the slow cooker before you leave for work and when you get home you just have to add the vegies and white sauce. Yum!!

    Ingredients
    Serves: 6

    • 1.4kg piece corned silverside
    • 1 (750ml) bottle dry ginger ale

    Directions
    Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:7hours  ›  Ready in:7hours10min

    1. Wash silverside. Place in a 4.5 litre slow cooker.
    2. Add the dry ginger ale. Cook, covered, on low for 7-8 hours or until tender. Serve.

    Serving suggestion

Serve with mashed potatoes, peas, cabbage and white sauce.

    Tip

It is most important you use the Schweppes Dry Ginger Ale. The other brands are too full of sugar and the taste won't be the same.

I have been making it this way for years. Will never go back to the old way.  -  11 Nov 2010

Admittedly didnt trust just the two ingredients so added 2 bay leaves & half an onion skewered with 4 cloves. I used 2 litres of the dry ginger to cover. It was a hit with the family with just a hint of flavour from the ginger ale. Another keeper for me - Thanks Helen  -  19 Jul 2016
