    Sliced pork fillet is lightly marinated before being stir fried with cabbage and bundles of noodles in a miso based sauce.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • Marinade
    • 1/2 tablespoon sugar
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 tablespoon light soy sauce or 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
    • 1-2 tablespoons cornflour, mixed with 1 tablespoon water
    • 450g pork fillet, sliced
    • Sauce
    • 4 tablespoons white miso paste
    • 1/2 cup (125ml) water
    • 2 tablespoons mirin
    • 1 tablespoon Japanese soy sauce (tamari)
    • 2 tablespoons sake (rice wine)
    • 1 tablespoon groundnut oil
    • 1 tablespoon finely diced garlic
    • 1 tablespoon groundnut oil
    • 1/4 cabbage, finely diced
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 12 yam bundles

    1. Marinade: Make the marinade by mixing together the sugar, salt, soy sauce and cornflour slurry. Mix in the pork, let marinate for 20 minutes.
    2. Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together the miso paste, water, mirin, soy sauce and sake to make the sauce.
    3. Cook: Heat a large frying pan with oil over high heat. Stir fry the garlic until fragrant; 2-3 minutes. Stir in the pork and cook until done; about 4-5 minutes. Set aside.
    4. Heat the same frying pan with oil over high heat. Stir fry the cabbage with 1 teaspoon salt until soft; 3-4 minutes.
    5. Stir in the sauce, yam bundles, pork and mix well. Heat, cover and simmer for 3 minutes. Adjust the seasoning accordingly and serve.

    Ingredients

    Yam bundles are bundles of noodles made from the konjac plant. The noodles are also known as shirataki noodles. They are low in calories and carbohydrates. If you can't find the bundled versions, use shirataki noodles. The noodles can be found in Asian speciality shops or online.
