    Tofu with Korean Chilli Sauce

    This is a Korean fried tofu that is covered with a homemade chilli, soy and sesame sauce. Eat alone or with vegetables to make a meal.

    Serves: 2 

    • 500g firm Tofu
    • 1 teaspoon oil
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon water
    • 1/2 teaspoon Korean red chilli powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
    • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
    • 1 pinch black pepper, to taste
    • 2 spring onions, diced
    • 1 pinch Korean grated red chilli

    Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:20min 

    1. Cut the tofu into about 1cm thick slices and sprinkle with salt.
    2. Pan fry the tofu with oil until golden brown on both sides.
    3. In a small bowl mix the soy sauce, water, red chilli powder, sesame seeds, sesame oil, black pepper and spring onions then spread over the pan fried Tofu.
    4. Sprinkle the grated red chilli on the top.

    This recipe is SO simple. I'm a big fan of tofu and this is one easy way to make it. I always have tofu left over after I made miso soup so this recipe is perfect for using up the remaining tofu.
