Quick and Easy Apple Turnovers

These are an easy dessert with apples in a puff pastry shell. Serve with ice cream, cream or your favourite yoghurt.


Serves: 4 

  • 2 puff pastry sheets
  • 2 apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 300g apple sauce
  • 1 tablespoon caster sugar
  • 30g butter
  • 1 egg, whisked

Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:40min  ›  Ready in:55min 

  1. Preheat oven to 210 degrees C.
  2. Line a buttered baking tray with a puff pastry sheet. Spread with apple sauce, apple slices, sugar and dobs of butter.
  3. Cover with the second puff pastry sheet then seal the edges by pinching them with your fingers. With a fork gently prick the pastry to let out the steam while it cooks.
  4. Brush the top with the whisked egg.
  5. Bake in the oven for 40 minutes.
