Milk Chocolate Bake

    45 minutes

This is a nice simple milk chocolate based dessert that can be served hot, warm or cold. I like to cook this after Easter to get rid of some of our surplus chocolates.

    3 people made this

    Serves: 8

    • 140g butter
    • 280g milk chocolate, cut into squares
    • 8 eggs, separate the yolks and whites
    • 1 1/4 cups (250g) caster sugar
    • 1/4 cup (30g) plain flour

    Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:30min  ›  Ready in:45min

    1. In a saucepan melt the butter over very low heat adding the squares of chocolate one by one. Stir constantly. When the mixture is smooth and creamy remove from heat and cool down.
    2. Add the egg yolks one by one into the butter-chocolate mixture stirring well. Then add the sugar and flour.
    3. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees C.
    4. In a bowl whisk the egg whites until stiff then add the chocolate mixture, stirring gently.
    5. Pour the batter onto a rectangular buttered baking tray and bake for 30-35 minutes.

This is so fun to make and tastes lush! 5*! Please check out my recipes:  -  15 Feb 2012  (Review from Allrecipes UK & Ireland)

This cake had a weird texture, very dense and very eggy. In taste. Afraid it was not liked by anyone in my family.  -  15 Mar 2015  (Review from Allrecipes UK & Ireland)
