This is a nice simple mashed potato side dish with a little twist. The goats cheese adds a depth and saltiness that combines with the nutmeg to create a bold new side.
Peel the potatoes. Cut them into pieces of equal size and add them to a saucepan then cover with cold water. Add a pinch of salt. Bring to the boil and cook for 15 minutes.
Drain the potatoes and allow them to cool for one or two minutes so that the steam evaporates.
Mash the potatoes then add the milk, crumbled goats cheese and butter to a saucepan. Cook over low heat. When melted, add the potatoes. Season with nutmeg, salt and pepper.
