Easy Mayonnaise Scones

    Mayonnaise is what gives these scones a light fluffy texture. They only require four ingredients; flour, sugar, milk and mayonnaise. Serve with butter and jam.

    Serves: 10 

    • 2 cups (250g) self-raising flour
    • 2 tablespoons caster sugar
    • 1 cup (250ml) milk
    • 90g mayonnaise

    Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:25min  ›  Ready in:35min 

    1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Line muffin tin with 10 paper muffin cups.
    2. In a large bowl, combine flour and sugar. Stir in milk and mayonnaise until a smooth dough is formed. Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups.
    3. Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, until golden brown and doubled in size.

    At first I didn't like these at all, but I changed my review after eating one that had cooled to room temperature. They are much better eaten cool rather than hot out of the oven. I would make these again any time.  -  29 Sep 2008
