Creamy Mashed Celeriac

Mashed celeriac is a great change from mashed potatoes but has a stronger taste. Substitute half of the celeriac with potatoes if you want a milder flavour.


Serves: 4 

  • 500g celeriac
  • 1cm ginger, finely grated
  • 4 tablespoons crème fraîche
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper, to taste

Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:35min  ›  Ready in:50min 

  1. Peel and dice the celeriac and bring to the boil in 500ml salted water. Boil for 30 minutes until soft.
  2. Drain the celeriac and dry on paper towel. Puree the celeriac.
  3. Combine the ginger, crème fraîche and celeriac. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Return to the saucepan and heat through thoroughly stirring.
