Cheesy Ham Pasta Bake

    This is an easy ham and cheese pasta bake that can be made special by the use of a quality cheese like Appenzell or Gruyère.

    Serves: 2 

    • 250g penne pasta
    • 40g butter
    • 120g ham, cubed
    • 200ml sour cream
    • 1 egg
    • 80g Appenzell, Gruyère or similar cheese, grated
    • 1 pinch salt and pepper, to taste
    • 1 handful fresh parsley, diced

    1. Cook, drain and set aside the pasta, according to packet instruction.
    2. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees C.
    3. Heat the butter in a large frypan. Add the ham and fry for a few minutes over a medium heat until crispy. Add the pasta, mix everything well and remove the frypan from the heat.
    4. Mix the sour cream, salt, pepper and the egg then add the egg mixture to the pasta and stir well.
    5. Pour the mixture into a buttered casserole dish and sprinkle cheese over the top.
    6. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 until golden-brown on top.
    7. Garnish with plenty of parsley.
