Banana and Orange Milkshake

    Banana milkshakes are always a family favourite and also a great way to get children to eat some fruit. No one can resist a milkshake.

    Serves: 4 

    • 1 banana, sliced
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
    • 1 lemon, juiced
    • 1 orange, juiced
    • 3 cups (750ml) milk
    • 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
    • 1 pinch sugar, to taste

    1. Puree banana, vanilla, lemon and orange juice and some of the milk.
    2. Add the remaining milk gradually.
    3. Mix in the vanilla ice cream and sugar to taste. Serve immediately.

    The flavor was good - not overly sweet and you did get a strong banana flavor. If you are expecting a milkshake though, I don't think this will fit the bill. The texture was more like a smoothie to me.  -  27 May 2013
