    Not the real thing - but a cheat's compromise! Diced beef is simmered in a mushroom and red wine sauce.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 6 

    • 1kg beef, diced
    • 1 medium onion, chopped
    • 350g mushrooms, chopped
    • 30g butter
    • 1 tin cream of mushroom soup
    • 1/2 cup red wine

    1. In a large pot over medium-high heat, sear beef on all sides. Stir in onion and saute until golden brown. Add mushrooms, butter, mushroom soup and wine.
    2. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 2 hours.
