A slow cooker is a good way to cook game meats like venison that may be tough and need a long cook time.


Serves: 6 

  • 1kg venison, diced
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 (400g) tin diced tomatoes
  • 1 red capsicum, diced
  • 6 to 8 frozen sirloin venison steaks
  • 2 packets instant onion soup mix
  • 1 (400g) tin cream of tomato soup
  • salt and black pepper, to taste

  1. Place venison in large slow cooker.
  2. Add the rest of the stroganoff ingredients over the meat then cover. Turn on High for at least 10 hours. Stir occasionally to break up the meat.
  3. When done serve with pasta, rice or potatoes.
