Using a premade pastry shell cuts the time needed to make this easy tart/quiche but of course you can make your own pastry. Simple flavours taste great!


Serves: 4 

  • 1 ready made pastry shell
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 red capsicum, sliced
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 150ml cream
  • 60g cheese, grated
  • salt and pepper to season

  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees C. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the onion until soft but not browned. Add the capsicum and cook for 5 minutes, then spread the mixture into the pastry.
  2. Mix the eggs, cream and cheese together and season to taste with salt and pepper.
  3. Pour over the flan and bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees C for 30 minutes until set and risen.
