The apple filling is cooked with sugar and cinnamon. It 's then poured into a large baking dish and covered with a sweet, buttery oat topping. Twenty minutes in the oven and it 's ready to serve with ice cream or custard.

I absoloutley LOVE this recipe!!! So delicious! My family devours this with ice cream and whipped cream on top! Love the Crumble Topping! Even my mum thinks this is better then her gran's recipe! Thanks a bunch! - 08 Oct 2008

There must be an error in this recipe. I think it calls for too much cinnimon and not enough cornflour. Almost tastes like apple flavoured porridge. Surely not my favourite. - 08 Oct 2008

Loved the crunchy, buttery crumble top. I cut the apples in cubes and cooked them in a bowl with blackberries with the topping from this recipe and it was terrific. I will definitely add the Crumble Topping recipe to my recipe box. - 08 Oct 2008
