The apple filling is cooked with sugar and cinnamon. It 's then poured into a large baking dish and covered with a sweet, buttery oat topping. Twenty minutes in the oven and it 's ready to serve with ice cream or custard.

There must be an error in this recipe. I think it calls for too much cinnimon and not enough cornflour. Almost tastes like apple flavoured porridge. Surely not my favourite. - 08 Oct 2008
Loved the crunchy, buttery crumble top. I cut the apples in cubes and cooked them in a bowl with blackberries with the topping from this recipe and it was terrific. I will definitely add the Crumble Topping recipe to my recipe box. - 08 Oct 2008
