    1. Brown the beef mince and onion in a large saucepan, then add the carrots.
    2. Then fill the pan of mince with cold water and bring to the boil, then turn heat down to let it simmer for about 1 hour.
    3. Meanwhile, put the potatoes on to boil for 40 mins - 1 hr.
    4. When the mince has cooked for an hour, drain using saucepan lid or collander. Add the gravy, stir into the mince, season and heat through for a few mins.
    5. When the potatoes have cooked, drain, add milk and butter and mash until lump free.
    6. Plate up the potatoes and then the mince.

My children really liked this, they have even asked to have it again! It is very simple to make however you do need to have the time before hand to be able to simmer the mince. It may not be a gourmet meal but my family and I enjoyed it and it is easy to prepare. This will be staying in our easy family midweek recipe box!  -  31 Oct 2010
