Made this yesterday for the first time. I didn't have golden raisins; so I used ordinary ones. It is still delicious! I may try using less yeast - a tablespoon seems a lot, and the loaf flattened itself on the lid of the breadmaker! I may also try honey, instead of syrup. All in all, a delicious recipe, which is also versatile, adaptable and easy to make.
Nearly 3 years on and I'm still making this delicious bread. I love it toasted with butter and honey.
